In October five members from the United States and Texas visited the Hankimuye headquarters in Incheon to take part in the first Hankimuye Fall Seminars. For two weeks they trained three to four times a day under the guidance of master Ko Baek-yong.
After teaching in New York and Plattsburgh Klaas travelled to Texas on the invitation of Sangmookwan Texas. There Klaas was a guest of Tom Foucha who heads the Texas Hankido organisation.
At the moment one of our international instructors, Klaas Barends, is teaching a series of seminar in the USA. After seminars in New York City, Klaas taught seminars at the Hankido school of instructor Ron Woord in Plattsburgh (NY).
Over the last few day instructor Klaas Barends (5th dan) has been teaching the members and instructors of Sangmookwan NYC. This school is run by instructor Michael Lee (4th dan) with the help of instructor James Kim (2nd dan). Sangmookwan in New York operates from two Korean churches in the Flushing area. Klaas has been teaching both hankido and hankumdo.
International instructors Ko Se-hwan and Klaas Barends, both 5th dan, will teach a Hankido seminar together on Sunday November 2 in Bangkok. This three hour seminar will be the first Hankido seminar of our federation in Thailand.

Our first big open seminar in the Netherlands took place in Urk. In total more than 40 people attended the seminars. The seminars started with a session in traditional hapkido kicking with master Yang Yong-seok. The second part was for master Ko Baek-yong who taught hankido self defence. Today’s training schedule started with some private instruction for Cem Uymak. Cem is the head instructor of the Turkish Hankido organisation and the representative for our federation in Istanbul. In the afternoon we trained with both Cem and his two assistants Yasin Erdogan and Fatih Cakir.
