The hankido and hankumdo curriculum of the World Hankimuye Federation concentrate on teaching students the principles and concepts of self defence. Not the amount of techniques a student knows is what is important, but his understanding of the core principles and the ability to apply these principles in combat.
Our federation issues grades from first until ninth dan (black belts) in both hankido and hankumdo. Member schools are responsible for the geup examinations (coloured belts).
Tests for first until fourth dan can be done in front of panel consisting of at least two international instructors or one international instructor with two national instructors. All tests for fifth dan and higher are done in front of the federation’s board of international instructors.
